The Queen's Arms pub is one of Brighton's oldest traditional cabaret venues - and the website showcases some of the features that Gardenshed.net developed to assist nightlife venues in promoting themselves effectively.
The pub has full control over all aspects of their site, including the ability to change the headline images on each page (uploaded images are automatically trimmed to fit and the corners rounded). They also had specific requirements in terms of promoting their special events and parties.
The news system allows the Queen's Arms to enter a news article or press release, to set a 'go live' date for it (to allow them to get them ready for release), and optionally also set an expiry date so that news can drop off the site once it is of no further interest. This ensures that the website is kept fresh, and irrelevent announcements ("closed for refurbishment" etc) won't clutter up the news archive.
A fully integrated event listings engine means that the Queen's Arms can enter details of forthcoming special events or repeating weekly events - and these will automatically appear on the homepage on the appropriate day as well as appearing in their calendar. Event listings are also automatically shared with local online nightlife guide, REALBrighton.com.
The Queen's Arms can upload event photos to their site - selecting their favourite shots as the headline photos and optionally adding comments to the photos. Photos are automatically watermarked with the company logo so that they become marketing tools if images are subsequently shared on Facebook (as the often are).
